Technical Development
Shape the future of electromobility with us from the third-largest development hub of the Audi Group.
Technical Development has more than 550 highly-skilled experts working day after day on the mobility solutions of tomorrow. Our competences include the development and optimization of internal combustion engines and electric drives, while our products and innovations are coordinated with developments at the Ingolstadt headquarters.
Powertrain Development is responsible for complete development projects, from design and simulation to the testing of vehicle powertrains on test benches. An additional core task of the area is to support the series production of various petrol and diesel engines and electric drives from the development side. Vehicle Development deals with the development of system and vehicle features, using, among others, numerical simulations in virtual space. The focus of development is on the areas of strength analysis, acoustics, thermal and energy management. In addition, development services in the areas of powertrain and vehicle testing, product data management and technical compliance in Vehicle Development’s testing laboratory are also a key part of the Győr competence portfolio.
In our development center, our experts also carry out powertrain and vehicle tests simulating real customer conditions on one of 17 internal combustion, one air conditioning, six component or five electric drive test benches, but we also have three test benches for acoustic testing and a multifunctional roller vehicle test bench. Our Technical Development department is constantly working on acquiring new competences, whether it is acoustic and simulation testing or thermal management. We are proud to have the approval responsibility for high-tech competences in various development projects.
In the two years ahead, Audi Hungaria will be spending a double-digit EUR million amount (billions of HUF) on Audi Hungaria’s Technical Development unit. The investment project focuses on the further development of electromobility and digitalization, for instance, by commissioning state-of-the-art test equipment for high-performance electric motors and drives.
