Jubilee Event at Audi Hungaria: the two millionth V6 TDI engine produced

The 2 millionth six-cylinder diesel engine came off the production line at AUDI HUNGARIA MOTOR Kft. today. Integrated into Audi A6 models, the power plant is a 3.0-litre Biturbo engine with a performance of 230 kW (313 HP) and 650 Nm of torque. The vehicle with the Jubilee engine will be sold in the German market.

In the name of “Progress through Technology” we manufacture high performance, yet efficient engines. “Thanks to our employees’ expertise and passion, we can convince our customers to choose us by offering such excellent products as the six-cylinder diesel engine, for example,” said Achim Heinfling, Managing Director for Engine Production of Audi Hungaria.

At present, more than 500 employees work in the area of six-cylinder engine manufacturing. 800 six-cylinder diesel engines are built every day with performance ranging between 150 and 230 kW. The 26 engine variants of the V6 TDI power plants are installed into more than 11 models of the Volkswagen Group.

For the past 19 years, Audi Hungaria has been a successful manufacturer and supplier of cutting-edge technology engines.

Currently, 240 engine variants – from four-cylinder engines to up to twelve-cylinder ones – are built on the Győr production lines; their performance ranges between 63 kW (86 HP) and 419 kW (570 HP). Over 7,000 engines come off the production lines on a daily basis. In Q1 2012, Audi Hungaria produced 522,010 power plants. More than 5,600 employees work in the area of engine manufacturing.
