The Successful Cooperation of Audi Hungaria and Audi ETO KC of Győr is Continued

• Audi signed a sponsorship agreement with the Champion’s League title defender team for three more years

• Fruitful cooperation with the handball club for 12 years now

Győr, 03 May 2018—AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. committed itself to the Győr-based team Audi ETO KC for three more years. The company has been standing behind the handball team as a sponsor for 12 years now. Audi ETO KC is Hungary’s most successful team in team sports. It is the current National Champion and Champion’s League title defender.

Mr. Achim Heinfling, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria and Dr. Csaba Bartha, President of the prominent handball club signed the agreement today, in the presence of Mr. Zsolt Borkai, the Mayor of the City of Győr.

“As a premium manufacturer we support premium performance. As one of the world’s most successful handball teams, the Győr-based Audi ETO KC is writing a fascinating success story. We are happy to prolong our partnership for three more years. We strive for peak performance and internationality; and our mutual values make a bond between us and the team Audi ETO KC of Győr. We are extremely pleased that by this cooperation we are also supporting the region that is hosting our company”, Achim Heinfling, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria  said upon signing the agreement.

Dr. Csaba Bartha, President of the handball club: “It is an honor for us to prolong this 12 years of cooperation between our club and Audi Hungaria for three more years. Just like Audi Hungaria, our team is also committed to reaching the highest goals and performing at our best, and I believe that we will deliver considerable results together in the upcoming years, too.

Audi Hungaria supports Audi ETO KC of Győr since 2006. Since then, the team has won 11 Hungarian Cups, 9 National Champion titles and three Champion’s League victories. In May 2017, in the Final Four of the EHF Champion’s League, the ladies of Győr won their 3^rd Champion’s League trophy in Budapest, in front of 12,000 fans. Now the team made it to the Final Four again, and will play the endgame soon.

So far, Audi ETO KC of Győr has played 529 matches altogether during the sponsorship period it was named after, 465 of which it has won. In these 13 years the Győr team scored 16,913 goals and spent a total of 31,740 minutes playing on the handball court.

In 2014 the team moved to its new home, to the multifunctional stadium Audi Aréna in Győr, which was also named after its sponsor Audi Hungaria. The opening ceremony of the Arena was an event of outstanding importance in the partnership between Audi Hungaria and the City of Győr.
