Győr, 29 July 2019 – The series production of the Audi Q3 Sportback has commenced at our Győr production site, making it the next in line of models manufactured here, after the Audi A3 Cabriolet, the TT Coupé & Roadster and the Audi Q3. The first ever Q3 Sportback to roll off the production line was dewy silver in colour.
“The demand for SUV type vehicles has been on the rise worldwide. This is why it is of crucial importance that following the Audi Q3 our product portfolio now has another, new Q model” Chairperson of the Management Board of AUDI HUNGARIA ZRT Achim Heinfling said. “Our production facility is amongst the most resilient across Audi – at this very moment, for example, no less than five different models are being manufactured in the same production line.”
The Audi Q3 Sportback is the first true compact crossover model in the Audi product range, combining the most characteristic features of the Audi Q3 with the gracefully ethereal design of the coupe. The unique looks, sporty undercarriage and effective yet powerful engine combine in this model for an outstanding driving experience on any terrain and surface.
Initially the Audi Q3 Sportback will be available in two variations: a 2.0-litre, 169kW (230HP) TFSI petrol engine and a 2.0-litre, 110kW (150HP) TDI diesel engine. Both engine types are manufactured by Audi Hungaria in Győr.
The engine range will be expanded later this year including a high power diesel engine and an entry level petrol engine with a 48V hybrid system.
“Our highly qualified workforce and the efficiency of our workflow allowed us to integrate the Audi Q3 Sportback in our vehicle production process” AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt Director of Vehicle Production Zoltán Les revealed. “Our customers all over the world can expect us to deliver this newest model of ours in the premium quality they got to expect of us.”
Currently 4,000 strong the vehicle production workforce of Audi Hungaria manufactures the models A3 Cabriolet, TT Coupé & Roadster, Q3 and now the Q3 Sportback. The vehicles rolling off the Győr production line are running on the roads of over 90 countries around the world.
