The project of Europe’s largest solar power plant installed on a building at the Audi Hungaria plant has reached an important milestone

2019. 11. 27.

Győr, 27 November 2019 – The installation works under the joint project of Audi Hungaria and E.ON are proceeding as planned: Europe’s largest photovoltaic system installed on a building is being implemented on the roof of two logistics centres of Audi Hungaria.

The solar cells (more than 20,000 units) have already been installed on the 80,000 square metre roof of one of the buildings. In the second phase of the project, the installation of the solar cells on the second 80,000 square metre roof has also commenced.

The solar power plant consisting of 36,000 solar cells, with an installed peak output of 12 megawatts (MWp), will be put into operation at the end of this year and will generate more than 9.5 GWh of electricity per year, enough to provide for the annual electricity needs of as many as 5,000 households. The renewable green electricity will reduce carbon dioxide emissions by some 6,000 tonnes.
