Győr, 09 July 2020 - Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center with extensive experience: For ten years, the Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center in Győr has been supporting the Volkswagen Group's engine projects from the very beginning to series production. In projects, production, production planning and design work closely together already in the early development phase. The Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center ensures a smooth transition between the development phase and series production by manufacturing test and pre-series engines and testing new equipment and production technologies.
"Over the past ten years, our Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center has developed into a diversified competence center that builds a bridge between the development, production planning and production departments. We are strengthening the cooperation with the expertise of our center, the agile work of our specialists and by creating efficiency and synergy effects throughout the Group," said Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. "Ten years ago, our Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center started with only twenty employees, today it employs 200 highly qualified people. In the meantime, our Competence Center is also responsible for electric drives and works as an external department of Széchenyi István University in Győr.”
The Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center of Audi Hungaria was opened in 2010 in order to incorporate the experience gained from series production into drive development. Since then, the center's activities have been expanded to include new areas of expertise: the experts at the Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center support engine projects throughout the whole Group. They coordinate entire projects from acceptance of order to delivery of the engines to customers. In the workshops of the Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center, future-oriented technologies such as 3D printing, virtual testing and virtual engine assembly are available. The use of virtual technologies is becoming more and more important because it enables significant time and cost optimization and increases production efficiency.
The Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center supports the high-level training of the next generation through scientific cooperation. The external department of the Faculty of Automotive Engineering of Audi Hungaria operating in the Experimental Engine Manufacturing Center, has already supported the theoretical training of more than 200 students with a practice-oriented education.
