Audi Hungaria and Győri ETO FC together in the championship

Audi Hungaria further strengthens the role it plays in Hungarian top sport. From the next season on, the company and Club Győri ETO FC will appear together in the football championship. This was announced at today’s press conference jointly by Thomas Faustmann, Managing Director of Audi Hungaria, Csaba Tarsoly, President of ETO FC, and Zsolt Borkai, Mayor of Győr, Town of County Rank.

“In addition to developing into a vehicle factory engaged in the entire production process, our company would also like to further strengthen its social commitments in Hungary. Thus such areas will be emphasized that are highly valued in the region and Győr. As a manufacturer of sport motors and motor vehicles, this is what we also signal with this future cooperation,” said Thomas Faustmann, Managing Director of Audi Hungaria Motor Kft.

The contract made is valid until 2014. Besides financial support, Audi Hungaria makes various Audi models available to the players and the coaches. The engines of the cars are made primarily, of course, in Győr.

“We are delighted to know that Audi Hungaria is behind us as a stable partner. The support of the company provides an excellent basis for us to achieve good results in the championship, to increase the team’s performance, and to ensure the education of the juniors,” said Csaba Tarsoly, President of ETO FC.

Zsolt Borkai, Mayor of the City of Győr, President of the Hungarian Olympic Committee, and former Olympic champion gymnast attended the press conference as an honorary guest. “For me, a healthy lifestyle and the promotion of sports are of great importance. That is why I like to support all such initiatives.”

It has been five years since Audi Hungaria decided to open up new avenues in the field of sport sponsorship. The first step – and at the same time a signal to the Hungarian top sport – was the cooperation agreement made with ETO women’s handball team. Audi Hungaria Motor Kft has been the name-giving main sponsor of ETO KC women’s handball team since 1 July 2006. By sponsoring the ETO Football Club, the Győr company further emphasizes its commitments in the region.
