Performances by the Győri Ballet, the Győr Philharmonic Orchestra, Pannonhalma Benedictine events such as Jazz Summer or St. Martin's Day, events in Győr such as the Győr Summer Festival and the Győr Dance Festival have all been intertwined with the four rings, as has the world-class performance of the Győr AUDI ETO KC. But it is not only professional sports that can count on Audi Hungaria, as it is also committed to supporting mass sports and sports for people with disabilities through its cooperation with the canoeing department of the Győr Water Sports Association, the Student Sports Associations Staféta and EMBERsÉG DSE as well as the Maltese House of Providence.
However, behind the micro and macro economic indicators, production figures and unit numbers that make all this possible, there are PEOPLE with capital letters, who, year after year, use the strength of their community to support the good cause and who, as individuals, are at the forefront of volunteering.

In this spirit, our colleague Dr. Zsolt Rácz ran the May Volunteer Day, where for the second time the sports-loving Audi employees could taste the pleasure of plogging. This environmentally conscious sport activity, where participants collect rubbish while running or jogging, was included as one of the optional environmental projects of Social Day. Nearly 30 enthusiastic Audi runners and at least as many staff from the headquarters started from the Audi Arena. One half of the team headed to the old people's home on Kálóczy tér, while the other half headed to the Homeless Service in Avar utca, taking the bin bags in their hands and proving not only to themselves but also to their environment that we can protect it why doing sport with enthusiasm, teamwork and a little attention.

The Quality Assurance Segment Manager of our tool factory has been involved in volunteer programmes organised by Audi Hungaria since he started working for the company. Two years ago, in a volunteer project led by him, they renovated the launching docks of the aquatic sports complex, which has been used by water sports enthusiasts in Győr, including the Audi dragon boat team. At this year's litter picking run, there was no question that his teammates were also taking part, so to speak, they are once again in the same boat, leading by example. As an enthusiastic nature conservationist, Zsolt welcomes Audi Hungaria's agile approach to social responsibility, as Győr and its surroundings are not only home to the company, but also a common living space for its employees and their families. "We all have a responsibility to the city where we live. We have the vocation to provide selfless help, and I’m very happy that the company is ready to create a forum for this. We are really living the motto “It’s good to do good!” and showing at the individual level that even small steps can contribute to a better world."

And there is plenty of good to be done in the world, but fortunately there are also many, many selfless people within Audi Hungaria. Zsuzsa Horváth has found a connection to volunteering through her musical talent, and through this she has been enchanting the everyday life of the pensioners' clubs of the Unified Health and Social Institute (EESZI) in Győr with a violin and guitar performance, inviting the elderly to sing and play music together. And for the third year running, she and her partner have been opening doors in the Colourful Space programme of the Hungarian Charity Service of the Order of Malta with their guitar and violin tunes. They sing along with participants recovering from addiction, talk about the songs and what they are trying to say, and helping to rebuild self-confidence and integrate into the community.
Music has been part of Zsuzsa's life for almost 20 years, from the age of seven. Following her music school studies she played in a string quartet, and after her studies in economics she found her place in Audi, working in budget and human resources planning. It is strange and uplifting to hear her say that she is grateful for the opportunity to bring joy to others through her music, thanks to a one-off volunteer appeal at work. Although she has taken part in fundraising before, it is in this systematic way that she can really experience selfless help. The one-off occasion has since turned into a collaboration that has lasted for years. She and her husband spend a lot of their free time preparing, and they themselves grow and recharge as they select and rehearse the songs.
"We are always excited to see how our audience receives the songs. It's a great feeling to see that we bring joy, that people are grateful, it's a magical confirmation for us. Music really does bring us closer, it builds bridges, strangers open up to each other, we cry and laugh together, and a real supportive environment is created."

This is the magic of this supportive environment, which participants experience at the Volunteer Day, where this year, in addition to several great initiatives, participants could also offer their helping hand to the Bóbita Special Children's Home. At the suggestion of our colleague Zoltán Kóródi, who works as a measurement technology engineer, several people took a brush and a grinding machine to renew the railing elements, kitchen and related rooms and the garden and to enrich the little inhabitants of the Ménfőcsanak home with a cool outdoor game.

Zoltán has been supporting the work of Bóbita, a charity near his home, with family donations for years, and this year he wanted to take advantage of the company's appeal to do so in an organised way, as he knew that the support was much needed. Across Audi, people from many different areas were quick to come forward to help, and the free places for the project filled up in just a few days.
"It was an uplifting feeling to help, I’m still under the influence of the power of our unity. I would like to thank all those involved in the renovation of the Bóbita Children's Home for their help and their approach to the work that has made the home such a beautiful place for the children and their carers. We are in a fortunate position to be able to help, and the personal encounters and experiences we have had have only strengthened our conviction that this work must continue."
Seeing the enthusiasm and dedication, we are sure that it will!
