Audi Hungaria School Centre Győr - students with credits at Széchenyi István University in Győr

Győr, May 8, 2024 - Today, the Audi Hungaria School Centre Győr - Audi Hungaria Deutsche Schule Győr and Széchenyi István University signed a cooperation agreement under which students of the school's dual vocational training program will be able to earn credits itowards their university studies. 

The school offers students the opportunity of studying the profession of industrial and commercial technician in a foreign language after graduation. In addition to theoretical training, the trainees will spend three days a week at one of the school's partner companies to acquire practical knowledge.

Under the agreement between the two institutions, students successfully completing the school's vocational exam can earncredits through their vocational school studies towards their BA in Business and Management and BA in Commerce and Marketing studies at the University t. In addition, the university recognises the dual practical training as the equivalent to a semester of compulsory practical training in both subjects, which translates into additional credits.

We also have an excellent relationship with the Audi Hungaria School Centre, and our current agreement opens a wider door to higher education for the school's students," said Dr. Zsolt Kovács, Vice President for General and Educational Affairs of Széchenyi István University.

"For the students of the Audi Hungaria School Centre Győr, the possibility of having their credits counted during their studies is an excellent opportunity, as it allows them to shorten their higher education studies and benefit from the fact that they can commence their studies with experience already gained in the industry and the world of work," said Tünde Havassy, Chairwoman of the Board of Trustees of the Audi Hungaria School Centre Győr.

"Today's agreement between Audi Hungaria School Centre Győr and Széchenyi István University is unique. For two years now, our joint initiative, the Győr Knowledge Transfer Centre, has been creating opportunities for cooperation between the corporate sector and small and medium-sized enterprises in the field of education. Together with our partner institutions, we aim to make vocational education and training even more attractive and to offer those involved opportunities that can effectively help them to develop their careers. Young students enjoy the valuable advantage of being able to use the knowledge they have acquired during the time spent in the dual training programme in the course of their university studies. Our dual vocational training and higher education courses not only strengthen the competitiveness of our company, but also that of the region," said Kinga Németh, Member of the Board of Management of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. responsible for Human Resources and Organization.

AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt. was the first company in Hungary to launch a dual vocational training model more than 23 years ago, with more than 2,500 young people graduating since 2001, most of whom have started their careers as employees at the Győr-based company.
