Sunset at Lake Balaton and the new Audi Q6 e-tron with engines from Győr

Győr, July 22, 2024 – Audi’s latest all-electric model, the Q6 e-tron, was revealed for the first time in Hungary at Balatonfüred. Beneath the sporty elegance of the exterior beats the heart of Győr, as the Q6 e-tron is powered by a Premium Platform Electric (PPE) electric motor created by Audi Hungaria.

“We are proud to supply the PPE electric motors for the Q6 e-tron and we are particularly pleased that the latest premium electric model from Audi is now available to Hungarian customers. We are convinced that the PPE engines will be appreciated by all owners of the Q6 e-tron, the production of which is an important milestone in the transformation of both Audi Hungaria and the company,” said Michael Breme, Chairman of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria.

Audi Hungaria launched series production of the new generation of PPE electric engines in November 2023. The four-ring company has invested EUR 190.2 million in a completely new 15,000-square-metre production area for PPE drives in an existing production hall. 700 employees work in Győr, with a daily production capacity of around 2,000 PPE electric drives.

“Our highly qualified employees work every day to deliver high-quality electric drives from Győr to our customers around the world. It’s a recognition of our work that our latest electric engine family, the PPE, is making its debut in Audi’s latest model,” said Robert Buttenhauser, Member of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria responsible for Engine Production.

Since its foundation, Audi Hungaria has invested more than EUR 12 billion in Győr, making the company one of the largest investors in the Hungarian industry. As one of the largest employers in the country, Audi Hungaria currently has a workforce of over 12,000 employees.
