The Hungarian Audi TT fan club’s visit to Audi Hungaria

Győr, 9 October 2023 – On 6 October, more than 70 Audi TTs rolled through the factory premises of Audi Hungaria in Győr. During the visit, fans of the Audi brand’s most iconic sports model were invited to attend exclusive programs at the four-ring company: the approximately 100 Audi TT fans were greeted by Zoltán Les, Member of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria responsible for Vehicle Production, after which they could get a behind-the-scene look at the vehicle assembly shop and the paint shop, learn about the activities of the Technical Development hub and also follow the production process of the iconic five-cylinder and ten-cylinder petrol engines. The series of programs was crowned by a joint parade on the factory premises of Audi Hungaria.

“It is a great feeling to meet people for whom our iconic model has the same special meaning as for all Audi Hungaria employees. After 25 years, the enthusiasm for the TT is still palpable, and today it is not merely a timeless design, but also almost a ‘Hungaricum’. Over these 25 years, we have produced more than 650,000 TTs, which proudly showcase the expertise of our employees around the world,” said Zoltán Les, Member of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria responsible for Vehicle Production.

The Hungarian Audi TT fan club was founded in 2013. The club has nearly 3,000 members, united by their love of cars and their passion for this special sports model, as well as by the joint car rallies and activities organized each month.

Audi has made design history with the Audi TT models. Since its debut in 1998, the sports car has wowed people around the world with its unique style and driving experience. In 1999, Auto Europe voted the Audi TT as the best new car of the year, which was also a real novelty at Audi Hungaria, since it was the TT model that the company started its vehicle manufacturing with. At first, the lacquered bodywork of the TTs arrived by train from Ingolstadt to Győr, where the Győr-based staff carried out the final assembly of the vehicles. In 2013, with the opening of the new vehicle factory, the entire production process moved to Győr — from the press shop through the body shop and paint shop to the final assembly of the cars. In 25 years, over 650,000 TT models have been produced at Audi Hungaria.
