More than 150 students have passed their exams in Audi Hungaria’s dual vocational training system

2021. 06. 11.

Győr, 11 June 2021 - Audi Hungaria places great emphasis on the education and high-level training of the next generation. For two decades, the company and its partner institutions have been successfully operating a dual vocational training system, where hundreds of young people acquired theoretical and practical knowledge in 14 professions every year. At the final exams this week, 152 students from Audi Hungaria’s dual vocational training programme demonstrated their skills at the company’s Training and Education Centre, at the company’s tool factory and at the Lukács Sándor Secondary School and College for Mechatronics and Engineering.

“Within the framework of dual vocational training, our company has been successfully cooperating with the city’s secondary schools for 20 years. The aim of our cooperation is to give students the opportunity to put the theoretical knowledge they have acquired at school into practice in a modern industrial environment at our company. Our dual apprenticeship model is a key pillar of our company’s apprenticeship programme, as evidenced by the fact that in recent years more than 2300 young people have qualified here and most of them have started their careers in our company. I would like to take this opportunity to congratulate the students who have just passed their exams and wish them every success in their careers. I would also like to thank our vocational trainers and teachers from our partner institutions for their high standard teaching activity and for their commitment in the face of the virus. I am convinced that the success of our dual vocational training model also contributes to the fact that our company has been one of the most attractive employers in the country for years,” said Kinga Németh, Member of the Board of Directors of Audi Hungaria, responsible for Human Resources and Organisation.

This year has been a challenging year for the participants of the dual vocational training, as the training went digital for more than two months. The transition to online training was successfully accomplished thanks to the close cooperation and flexibility of both professional trainers and students, and the efficient design and operation of the digital system.

A novelty this year was that, for the first time, in addition to the OKJ (National Qualifications Register) vocational qualification, students - 39 in total - had taken their exams consistent with the register of occupations. Representing three professions - alternative vehicle drive technician, vehicle maintenance technician and CNC programmer - the new system allowed students to demonstrate their skills with interactive exercises and a project task. Similar to last year, the exams were held in compliance with health and safety regulations.
