In 1994, the first year of production at Audi Hungaria, the first four-cylinder, 1.8-litre, 125 hp five-valve engine was built on a newly installed production line in Győr and has played a key role in production ever since. This production line also served as the basis for the line on which the EA211 engine has been produced since 2012. Over the years, its design and production has continuously adapted to technological changes, new products and market needs. In 2018, the company also integrated the production of three-cylinder engines on this line, expanding the product range and increasing production flexibility.
The engines currently in production – the 1.0-litre three-cylinder and the 1.4-litre and 1.5-litre four-cylinder petrol engines – are available in Classic and Evo versions, with power outputs ranging from 95 to 150 hp. These engines are installed not only by Audi, but also by other VW Group brands such as Volkswagen, Škoda, Seat and CUPRA worldwide.
"Audi Hungaria's engines are backed by over three decades of experience and by the continuous knowledge and development of our specialists. This expertise and know-how, combined with the commitment of our staff, has been and will remain a guarantee of our future success. I thank my colleagues for their dedicated work and congratulate them on this special anniversary." – said Peter Will, Director for Engine Production, Member of the Board of Management of Audi Hungaria.
