The Best Apprentice Award is the Volkswagen Group's most prestigious apprenticeship award supporting young professional talent, which is presented each year to the most outstanding apprentices in dual training. The award aims to recognise the performance of young professionals and to promote professional excellence in the VW Group's international training network.
Péter István Jankó, Audi Hungaria’s award winner from Győr, graduated as an alternative vehicle drive technician and is currently working in the company's vehicle factory in electronic diagnostics. His professional achievements are outstanding: he has proven his knowledge at national level and has been among the company's best apprentices on several occasions.
This year's recognition is particularly significant as the company has been operating and developing its dual vocational training system in Hungary as a pioneer for 25 years.
The training programme, operated according to the German model, has now become a defining model at national level as well. The strengths of the programme are gaining practical experience and learning in a real industrial environment, which enables participants to acquire up-to-date professional knowledge and key competences essential on the labour market already during their training.
So far, the company's training programme has given more than 2,600 young people a secure career outlook, and most of them have successfully entered the labour market – many of them starting their careers as Audi Hungaria employees.
The company's aim is to build a base of skilled professionals with competitive knowledge for the long term. Success at the Best Apprentice Award confirms this ambition at an international level as well.
