• The 1.5 millionth car has been finished at Audi Hungaria

Győr, 3 September 2020 – The 1.5 millionth car, a beautiful Audi Q3 Sportback MHEV in pearlescent dark burgundy colour, rolled down from the production line today, and will soon arrive to his new owner in Germany. The 1.5l TFSI engine with mild-hybrid technology was also produced in Győr. Vehicle production started at Audi Hungaria in 1998 with the assembly of the first generation of Audi TT. Nowadays, in addition to the Audi TT Coupé and Roadster models Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback models are also produced in Győr.

We started with small-scale car assembly in 1998, then in 2013 with the opening of our vehicle plant, which covers the entire vertical range of production, we have become a determining location of the Group in both in engine and vehicle production. In the recent years, Audi Hungaria has evolved from a manufacturing site to a complex company with production, development, tooling making and group-wide procurement, and is a global leader in the production of many products. There are 1.5 million cars made in Győr on the roads of the world. With our motivated team, we are ready for the production of the next 1.5 million cars”, said Alfons Dintner, Chairman of the Board of Management of AUDI HUNGARIA Zrt.

Only five years after the company’s foundation, in 1998, Audi Hungaria extended its engine production by vehicle production. The first model made exclusively in Győr was the Audi TT Coupé, followed over the years by other models such as the Audi A3, RS 3 and A3 Cabriolet. Currently, Audi Hungaria has more than 12 000 employees. 500 of them produce the Audi TT Coupé, TT Roadster, and the Audi Q3 and Q3 Sportback. The models made in Győr reach more than 90 countries worldwide.
